So we got a call from a company that is working on offering retro-fit kits to turn a side by side electric. They wanted to test them in Moab and wanted me to tag along and drive them, while also hauling the generators around just in case. We went out on Hells Revenge with a few other locals and tour guides and tried them out. I was actually surprised at how well balanced they were with good power. They had a small hiccup with one testing a new form of disconnect axles in the rear that failed, but once we swapped those out all was well. After we got back from the Tread Expo it was time to get to repairing my race car. Lots of cutting, quite a bit of welding, and many cuss words and we got it. We got a call for a Jeep that had rolled in the big hot tub on Hells Revenge the day before. So we went out to get it with Trailmater. It had snapped the sector shaft in the steering box. Once we got there we got it out of where it was an got it to level ground. We realized the ram was still hooked up so we checked fluids and fired it up and Shawn drove it out. Was slow going with the erratic steering but still faster than carrying it out. We got it to the parking lot and onto the customers trailer. While we out doing that, Mike headed to Elephant Hill to help get a jeep out with a broken transmission shifter. Went out on Hells Revenge Trail to weld a rear axle back together on a Toyota 4runner. Got it back together and filled up with oil so it could be driven out under its own power. So the day after the junction race we decided to go run 21 Road Trail. We went with a group of friends and had a great time. Near the end of the trail a friend of mine broke his rear axleshaft causing the whole tire and wheel to come off. So I rigged up my front winch to hold his axle off the ground while we drove out. Things happened, but it got it onto thru trailer. So then Monday morning we decided to pull the buggy in the shop and do some repairs. Which then led to new paint.
