We got a call for a vehicle that got caught in a flash flood in Cathedral Valley in Capitol Reef State Park. Shawn and I went in with Trailmater to get the vehicle and cleanup where the family had camped while they waited for rescue. We got to the vehicle and found it was fairly buried on the passenger side but luckily not high enough to get water in the engine. However the alternator was dead from being submerged. So to get the vehicle to run long enough to help get it out we had to run our welding leads and jumper cables out to reach. We got it out and swapped in one of Trailmater's batteries to get it to drive for awhile. With so many electronics in new vehicles and the alternator not working it only made it a few miles. We decided to just pull it back to the trailer. Unfortunately this vehicle was a rental and being as it spent a few days half submerged we knew it was totaled so we weren't worried about damaging anything by pulling it. We decided to upgrade the Race Van with a cage, a cold air intake, cut off extra weight, and add some exhaust. With how horrible the race video did for views we may not record anymore of our races, but we are absolutely gonna race more with our friends. So some upgrades and changes were definitely needed. Then we had to go out to Tower Arch Trail to recover a brand new Bronco. We pulled it out, then loaded it on the trailer and hauled it back to town. Thank you everyone for watching and supporting us. Late afternoon we got a call for a broken RZR at the bottom of Hamburger Hill. So Mike and I ran in in the LJ to see if we could just pull it out before sundown. Here it is... The race nobody wanted. We decided to invite friends and fellow shop owners in town to race us with junk cars. It was completed planned and executed in about 4 days. Let me just say it was an absolute blast. We had so much fun and we're rooting for each other as vehicles struggled and died along the way. We had a friend show up at the shop and tell us he had a van he wanted to give us since it had a good engine and transmission. We went and got it and since it ran and drive we started messing with it. That then turned into let's invite all the shops in town to a race. So we had to get the van all prepped in race mode. Then I took the buggy to the Monticello Mud Runs. Had a great time getting muddy and ended up taking 3rd in my class. Coming next video will be the race we called Matercross. We got a call for a Subaru stuck up on the Rim Rocker Trail near Paradox Colorado. We ran in to pull it out but it wasn't exactly stuck the steering rack was damaged and wouldn't turn. So we came back the next morning with a trailer. We hauled the trailer up the mountain with Ol Blue because my new Dodge is not for driving offroad. Once we got it loaded on the trailer and hauled down to the paved road Shawn and Mike used the Dodge to haul it to Grand Junction Colorado to the Subaru dealership. Our buddy Mike called and said his Toyota buggy had broke out by the Big Hot Tub. So we loaded up and headed out to get it. We got there and had to get it winched up to a more flat area to hook it up. We got it hooked and started heading out, but didn't make it far before it wouldn't stay on the sling. While I was hauling Ol Blue up to Colorado to the drag strip we got a call for a RZR that had a dead battery on Poison Spider Mesa. So I sent Shawn and Mike up to get it handled. They got them down and out of there by loaning them the jump pack to keep the battery charged while they drove out. Then we ran into Hells Revenge Trail to get a rig with a broken rear ring and pinion. We pulled it out to the trailhead and put it on their trailer so they could haul it to get it repaired.
