I got a call Saturday evening about a truck stuck in the squeeze on Elephant Hill Trail. They had a ride back to town and going out in the dark is never a good idea if it can be avoided. So Sunday morning I loaded up Trailmater and my buddy Kenny and went after it. It had wedged the tires into the walls and broke a front cv shaft to where it couldn't go forward of back on its own. We got to the vehicle and winced the tires straight. Then we pulled it forward as we stacked a little rock road to keep the side of the truck out of the wall. Once out it had 2 Wheel Drive so it could drive itself somewhat. We cut out the broken shaft and continued on. We got to the bottom of Elephant Hill and used Trailmater and our tow winch to pull it up to the top. Then back at the visitors center we threw it on the trailer and hauled it back to Moab and to the customer. Thank you everyone for watching and supporting us. While we were out at the sand dunes on a Sunday letting Lilli drive the LJ around. She didn't see a washout and slammed the front tire. She was fine but a little shaken up, of course she was wearing her seat belt, after she drove the jeep back to we're I was the ture was noticeably bent. So Monday morning we pulled it in to see if we could fix it. We got it handled with an offset ball joint and a new taper for the tie rod. So we got a call from our friends at Bent Off Road Recovery to help them build a cage on their Ford tow truck. So we happily accepted. They wanted to reinforce the frame and body to stop the twisting of the cab. So we went with a partial exo cage and interior cage to keep the inside clean and accessible while being able to add a roof rack later if they want. While at it they wanted to replace the broken roof with a newer top. While doing all this we also finished up a couple things on Trailmater.
